HOW IT WORKS

We live in one of the fastest growing communities in Canada so there's no reason to stop at 100!  Our goal is to make our Chapter one of the largest in Ontario. Get active in your community and make a great IMPACT!

We cover Cambridge / Kitchener / Waterloo and surrounding areas to allow us to cover as many charities as possible within these communities.  If you are a local charity, we would love to hear from you!

  • Each Member commits to donating $100 per meeting, four times a year.

  • Meetings are diligently conducted in one hour or less.

  • Any member who has signed a commitment form and who is current with her donations, may nominate an organization for consideration. Members are allowed to nominate one (1) charity per meeting. Each member must have done their homework and have a contact at the charity of their choice and must make the charity aware of their nomination. The member is responsible for making arrangements directly with the charity to present at the meeting if their name has been selected. Members can nominate a charity by filling out a form and submitting it here.

  • The nominated charities will make a five minute presentation about the organization to the group and a Q&A session will follow.

  • All active members may vote (by ballot) for one of the three organizations.

  • Each member will write a cheque for $100 to the organization receiving the most votes.

  • The selected organization will receive a group donation of $10,000 or more!

  • Members who did not vote for the selected organization agree to make their donation regardless of their casted vote.

  • Members who are unable to attend a meeting are expected to give her cheque to another member to deliver on her behalf.  Alternatively,  you can make arrangements in advance of the scheduled meeting with Lisa.

  • If you cannot attend a meeting please send your cheque or e-transfer in advance to lisa@100womenwhocarewaterlooregion.com -- we ask that you please use the following security question: "how many women?" and please simply answer "100women" (no spaces). Members who pay in advance will be told the three charities and a proxy vote can take place.  Also, members in good standing can provide their proxy vote to another member in good standing if they can not make the scheduled meeting.

  • Members will receive a tax receipt directly from the organization and distributed at the next scheduled meeting.

  • Organizations up for consideration must serve the Cambridge/Kitchener/Waterloo Region.

  • An organization not selected at one meeting may be resubmitted at a subsequent meeting.

  • A successful organization is not eligible for future consideration for 2 years but the nominating member may submit the name of another organization.

  • Ties will be decided by further votes. If a tie persists, the membership will revote on the two tied charities.

  • The selected organization must agree not to give out member information to any third parties except for tax purposes.

  • Each meeting will open with a five minute update on how the funds donated at the previous meeting were used by the successful organization.
